Ileen Tosado, LCSW
Ileen Tosado, LMHC, is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a diverse professional background and a deep commitment to serving children, adolescents, and families. She began her career as an elementary school teacher, where she discovered her passion for supporting the emotional and developmental needs of young learners. This experience laid the foundation for her transition into the mental health field.
Ileen holds a degree from Universidad del Turabo and later pursued advanced mental health studies at Troy University in Tampa Bay, Florida, further equipping her with the clinical knowledge and therapeutic tools necessary to support her clients holistically.
She has extensive experience working in community mental health settings, focusing on issues such as trauma, attachment, mood dysregulation, suicidal ideation, crisis intervention, and learning disabilities. Her clinical approach incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and adoption-competent practices to help families navigate complex parenting challenges.
A bilingual and multicultural clinician fluent in both Spanish and English, Ileen is dedicated to advocating for culturally appropriate accommodations that honor each child's unique learning and emotional needs. Her linguistic and cultural competencies have strengthened her ability to connect with a wide range of families.
From a young age, Ileen recognized her calling to support vulnerable populations. A self-proclaimed feminist, she has a strong commitment to empowering adolescent girls by educating them about consent, personal boundaries, and their rights. She believes her role as a therapist is a meaningful way to give back to the community—helping children, teens, and families become more functional, resilient, and emotionally skilled for life.
